10th Commencement Exercises

On June 14, 2019, Keitech had its 10th Commencement Exercises in recognizing the efforts of the 145 graduates from the six different courses in Construction, Metals and Engineering, and Tourism sector. The graduates received four (4) to five (5) National Certificates from TESDA after having successfully completed their eleven (11) months training. They also earned certificates from various special trainings that helped them mold in becoming one of the world’s greatest nation builders.

The event was attended by the KEFI President, Dr. Paul A. Aquino; Kananga Vice Mayor, Hon. Elmer C. Codilla; TESDA Representatives, Ms. Vilma T. Arteche and Ms. Imelda C. Malabalat; KEFI Incoming President and EDC CSR Head, Atty. Allan V. Barcena; and EDC Head of HR Group, Ms. Elizabeth D. Nasol who also was the Commencement Speaker. Keitech’s 10th Commencement Speaker, Ma. Elizabeth D. Nasol (EDC HR Management Group Head), said that she sees a future leader in every Keitech graduate. “One’s capabilities must be developed in order for him to become a leader.

The training is just the start of that long journey ahead,” said Ms. Nasol. She then shared some of her own life lessons. “Begin with the end in mind. Kailangan may goal ka. Importante na alam mo kung ano ang gusto mong patutunguhan. It’s important to have clarity in term of intention… The end in mind provides you the direction. It will provide you every step that you make for you to achieve your goal… The goal will actually change every time you hit your goal. So talagang you have to have a dream, and when you achieve your dream, you go to another dream, and it doesn’t stop because learning is a life-long journey,” shared Ms. Nasol. She then added that it is also important to have passion and perseverance. “Kung wala kang passion for what you are doing, you’ll never hit your dream. Perseverance, on the other hand, means practicing all the time. Every day, you have to do better than what you did yesterday,” as per Nasol. As Keitech pushes itself to produce highly skilled graduates, we also give equal importance in other aspect such as their leadership skills, safety and discipline. This year’s Oscar M. Lopez awardee is Mr. Renante C. Ylanan, a 22-yearsold resident of Kananga, Leyte. Mr. Ylanan is a son of a farm laborer, fifth among the six children, whose family is quite financially challenged. As Keitech marks its 10 years of operations, the Foundation is aiming to maintain theirlegacy of the having a 100% passing rate in all competency assessments.
