Our History

Keitech is a post-secondary technical-vocational training center founded in 2009 located in Barangays Rizal and Hiluctugan, Kananga, Leyte. It is operated by Keitech Educational Foundation, Inc. This is established as a tripartite agreement among Energy Development Corporation, Local Government Unit of Kananga, and TESDA Regional Office No. VIII. Keitech is an integral part of the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Program of EDC. It falls under the education and livelihood program of its HELEN Project.

Keitech is created as a response to the following situation in Leyte:

  • Leyte’s geographical location in the typhoon belt area that hinders industrialization and economic development thus it would be fruitful to invest in education,
  • Minimal number of high school graduates who are able to proceed to post-secondary education,
  • There is a high dependence on subsistence farming,
  • There is a high demand for skilled workers locally and abroad; and
  • There is fewer available skilled workers in the locality.

Keitech occupies an almost 4-hectare campus with 21 buildings, top-notch facilities, and equipment, and has highly qualified trainers and staff. Keitech is a highly regarded TESDA training center with the required registration for each course. This training center is also designed to address the lack of technically skilled workers in the locality and to cater to the local and global employment opportunities, Keitech now gives new hope to the youth for a brighter future and helps improve the economic situation in their respective families through the employment of its graduates.

Keitech’s dream is for its graduates to be among the worlds’ greatest nation builders.
